Description

My client is looking to recruit a Open Source Developer who will be expected to take a lead on open source projects within the IT development activities of the company.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Development of new web based solutions using Open Source technologies
Improving Open Source technologies utilised within existing solutions
Promoting Agile development throughout the team
Technical Design of solutions from supplied requirements and high level design
Preparation of estimates from technical designs
Maintenance of existing solutions
Project planning, where appropriate will also need to be carried out and filtered to the respective development teams.
Maintain a constant view of on-going projects, distributing resources and updating project plans as necessary ensuring on-time delivery.
The individual should be-able to demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills, since the role will involve communicating with development teams in other countries, and maintaining good moral within the team.
The individual should have good knowledge of Service Orientated Architecture, and have experience working in an environment where software is sold as a service.

You will have a

Demonstrable passion for technology
Fluent spoken and written English
Good analytical skills.
Excellent specification and documentation skills, including UML, database schemas, risk identification and project management tools.
Knowledge of Linux
Good knowledge of SQL
Proven experience with MySQL or Postgres
Good knowledge of Workflows.
Good Knowledge of PHP
Excellent knowledge of web services (SOAP)
Approachability and responsiveness
Knowledge of Java
Knowledge of Javascript/HTML/CSS
Knowledge of AJAX

Desirable
Good knowledge of .net technologies (ASP and C#).
Google Web Toolkit
Experience of leading a team
