Our client is looking for an Environmental Advisor/Trainee to be responsible for supporting the Environmental Manager in the continual development, implementation, maintenance and auditing, of the Company’s Environmental Management System in order to obtain maintain certification to and continued compliance with ISO 14001.
The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:
1.To develop and maintain a level of knowledge and expertise in environmental matters appropriate to the Company’s products and services, particularly related to emerging Government, industry and client regulations, standards, initiatives and/or other requirements.
2.To provide environmental support to operational managers, at any location, to enable them to implement better environmental practices and to measure and reduce the environmental impact of their operations.
3.To review Project Plans, supplier and sub-contractor questionnaires.
1.To develop, review, refine and maintain Company environmental processes.Where these processes are required to be changed, ensure that due process is followed in relation to review and authorisation.
2.To undertake regular visits to sites as necessary to audit and monitor the operation of the Environmental Management System including the requirements of contracts and advise site staff on implementation problems.
3.To carry out and report on audits of suppliers and sub-contractors, when necessary.
4.During the course of visits to sites, to carry out inspections and report any deficiencies to both site and head office staff responsible for the project.
5.To carry out inductions and training of staff on the Environmental Management System as necessary.
6.To attend pre-contract planning meetings where requested.
The ideal candidate will posses:
1. A professional qualification in related subject.
2. Will have at least 2 years experience in related job or in construction.
Monday to Friday - 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.
Role is based in Swanley however may require frequent visits to other offices and sites.
