Description		Our client is a leading provider of enterprise-class data storage subsystems and storage infrastructure manufacturing equipment & automation solutions Job Overview: The role is for an Analogue Design Engineer to join our multi-skilled Development team on a permanent basis. You will be involved with the Design, Development and Manufacture of sophisticated Automated Head / Media Test Systems for the Disk drive industry. As a Team member you will be exposed to an extensive range of leading edge Technologies being applied to a range of sophisticated automated test solutions. Working from an initial requirement, the engineer must be able to produce implementation concepts and identify the optimum solution. The engineer will be responsible for defining detailed requirements, carrying out design and simulation followed by testing. Responsible for ensuring the designed solution meets the system requirement. You will be expected to work within a multi-disciplined team, and will be exposed to many cross functional aspects of the project, working closely with Software and Mechanical team members during system Integration. Travel to the US, Far East, and Europe is likely, in order to participate in Design Implementation and Installation support, during the debugging phase of equipment in Customer premises. Technical profile: Degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years experience in Broadband Analogue Design and Development (ideally coupled with mentoring and demonstrating some degree of project responsibility) RF Design Techniques: - Clock synthesizer design (up to 3GHz) - PLL design - Design and use of a wide range of RF components such as oscillators, mixers, splitters, attenuators, gain blocks and filters. - Design of bias circuits - Wide band signal amplification and distribution - Filter design using discrete components and printed structures - System Level Frequency Planning and level signal budgeting - Use of industry standard design tools for simulation and modelling (e.g. ADS or Genesys) - Use of schematic capture and PCB viewers - Understanding of PCB technology and board materials - Understanding of cost aware RF design and manufacturing methods - Design for manufacture and test Baseband Frequency Design Techniques: - Low noise amplifiers - ADC and DAC interfacing and conditioning - Filter design - Control loops - SMPS design advantageous - Use of industry standard design tools for simulation and modelling - PCB layout techniques To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK Matchtech Group Plc is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
