Senior Java Programmer – Java / C / Unix / SQL / Swing / Hibernate / PERL – Selby

A leading Software House requires a dedicated, passionate Senior Java Programmer with a commitment to excellence and attention to detail to join a highly motivated team.

Skills – The successful candidate will have a really strong history in designing and programming in C and Java. This will be backed up with plenty of experience working with both Unix and Informix esql/C as well as having some XML experience. Object orientated software construction will play a large part of your work and experience of SQL or HQL is vital. A great knowledge of Java Swing or similar would be highly desirable and a familiarity with scripting languages such as PERL would really strengthen your application. Great communication skills are essential as you will be constantly be working closely with your team.

Role – As Senior Java Programmer you will be responsible for following technical project plans and specific requirements to write and code individual programmes. A great awareness of new technologies is required to establish best practice procedures across all areas of activity. The successful candidate will be involved with projects throughout the build, test, implementation and handover to Operations. This will involve working individually and as part of a team so you must be a great team player. It will be important to fulfil business objectives by providing responsive and quality development expertise. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that all current systems are supported and maintained to enhance efficiencies.
