Job Description: As Assistant Store Manager and second in command, it's your responsibility to support the Manager in driving sales of the products in a challenging, competitive market place. You'll help to run a profitable and efficient store in every respect, and will directly support the Manager in leading and motivating a world class retail team. You will, above all, be passionate about people, be they our customers or your team, and you'll set the highest standards of customer service to ensure it is consistently delivered every day.
This is a demanding role that will utilise all your retail skills and knowledge including: Market knowledge: You will need to understand the market we are in and will work with the Manager to translate that into daily activities to make your store profitable. Leadership: In the Manager's absence the Assistant Store Manager will guide the team by giving clear direction, encouraging consistently high standards - whatever the task. Customer Service: Every member of your team will share your desire to give world class customer service to everyone who visits your store. The Manager will set the standards that the team will aspire to, and as Assistant Store Manager, you will emulate those so that the team can learn from you. Store Standards: You'll be the second pair of eyes, ensuring that the look and feel of your store enables us to capitalise on every sales opportunities. Compliance: You'll support the Manager in ensuring that the Company's compliance standards are always met, both on the shop floor and in the Back Office. Self motivation: As Assistant Store Manager you will bring energy and enthusiasm to every day, you complete tasks as they need to be done, and you are loyal to and support your Manager in running the store as if it were your own business.
As part of your accountabilities you'll share your knowledge and experience with the team, and help to keep them focussed and motivated as well as keeping the Manager informed of potential people problems to ensure they are resolved quickly.
As Assistant Store Manager, your role will be wide ranging and will include the following responsibilities: Consistently delivering a world class customer service experience through exceptional store standards and effective sales floor management. Implementing the latest brand marketing and merchandising POS to maximise every sales opportunity. Using your expert knowledge of our products, and ensuring that the team do too. You'll be aware of what our competitors offer and what we offer that beats our competitors' proposition. From a management perspective you'll support the Manager in effectively and profitably managing sales, stock, cash and assets, look for opportunities to control costs and be aware of the importance of achieving the required standards to ensure a happy, secure and safe environment for your colleagues and your customers.
To be considered for this Assistant Store Manager position, you will need to be outgoing, open and genuinely interested in people, enthusiastic and passionate about life, able to get on with all types of people, both face to face and on the phone, buzzing about our products and know why we are unique and special, always ready to welcome customers, finding out what they need, where nothing is too much trouble and driven by success.
You will also need GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (at Grade C or above), a passion for Retail sales and customer service, excellent communication skills and experience in a management or supervisory position within retail or service related industry where managed against KPI's.
