Qualifications and skills needed by applicants

Previous experience of design and manufacture of Mechanical Handling equipment and tooling.
Want a Design engineer with tooling/ jigs/MGSE (mech ground systems equipments) design experience.

Experience of designing tooling/ jigs/trolleys/ structures.
Essential HNC in an engineering discipline with an Aerospace background
Desirable Suitable engineering degree with experience in the design and manufacture of MGSE/ tooling
Previous experience

Exposure of CAD systems
Experience with Aerospace MGSE /tooling design and manufacture. Product liability experience
The role
The main focus will involve the definition, design and supply of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and tooling for the manufacture and test of satellite structures. The duties will include liaison with internal customers to establish requirements, the provision of estimates and schedules and thereafter the control of the design, structural analysis, supplier selection, manufacturing reviews and acceptance/qualification testing. This role will involve close liaison with personnel from several engineering disciplines. An awareness of safety issues associated with Mechanical Handling equipment and the provision of technical documents is also required
The successful candidate will be required to apply for and receive a disclosure Scotland certificate prior to commencement of the contract.
