Our client has been established for more than a quarter of a century and is renowned as a market leader in the provision of electro mechanical repair solutions and complete plant maintenance programmes to a range of industrial and engineering clients. As a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, self motivated and highly capable Shift Manager to coordinate the activities of teams of fitters, winders and machinists.
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate impressive abilities in the management of team members as well as activities and situations in order to ensure strict deadline targets are achieved, and will possess exceptional communication and organisational skills essential in ensuring focussed effort from all members of the team.
With a strong, dynamic and enthusiastic personality and approach, you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of modern rotating machines such as pumps, gearboxes and electric motors and either a relevant engineering qualification or the ability to demonstrate directly relevant experience gained within a comparable environment.
You will be tasked with the day to day management of production activities, including ensuring staff compliance in accordance with the employee handbook, raising job cards, advices notes and purchasing requisitions necessary to the shift, and will excel in keeping customers informed at all times as well as liaising with authorized suppliers for spares and services, maintaining the shift log and allocating work to staff as well as assuming responsibilities for the Works Manager for H&S issues when they are not on shift.
You will hold complete responsibility for all aspects of the business during shift times and will possess previous experience in the line management of personnel, quality assurance and health and safety compliance as well as for the control and improvement to the reliability of repairs and projects, and will therefore be a committed, highly self motivated and flexible individual who will ideally be able to demonstrate previous experience gained within the an electro mechanical (repair) environment. Additionally you will be flexible to undertake occasional travel to customer locations throughout the UK and a full driving licence is therefore essential.
