Controls Engineer
Job Title Controls Engineer
Primary Role
To participate in the project team with the Project Leader, from launch to project closing in such a way that defined targets of the project are reached with the lowest consumption of resources.
This means among other things to:
Initiate and establish contacts with the Customer’s Project Engineers.
Participate in project meetings.
Make continuous quality checks of performed work.
Identify design input data regarding the project. Ensure that the correct specifications and standards are used, including consideration of the Machinery Directive.
Carry out or participate in design verifications, design reviews and design validations.
Perform all calculations necessary for the design work.
Produce required data for production.
Write and commission specified Software PLC programs – Siemens S7 preferred.
Modify and commission standard company “function block” PLC programs Examine and approve drawings before they are released for production.
Purchase components for the project.
Prepare the User documentation.
Note:
As the company is part of an international group, not all projects will be UK based.
Therefore, a certain amount of travel may be required.
Secondary Roles
Occasional project leadership duties, which require the day to day planning and administration of project progress from kick-off to closure in such a way that defined targets of the project, are reached with the lowest possible consumption of resources.
This means among many other things to:
Draw up and update project plans.
Initiate and establish contacts with the Customer. Make progress reports to management.
Make progress reports to the Customer. Convene and conduct the project meetings. Ensure the project team makes continuous quality checks of performed work.
Document and report changes in the Customer contract.
Preparation of material for Build, i.e. cutting, drilling and machining
Pre-assemble of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical parts
Assist with mechanical build up of conveyors. Assist with Installation of Systems at our Customer’s premises.
Salary is £30,000 - £34,000 PA
