Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical
The Maintenance Engineer will report directly to the Lead Maintenance Engineer or Rig Manager.
The Maintenance Engineer's role will be, but not limited to, the provision of support for the Maintenance team, including the production, update and maintenance of maintenance documentation and procedures.
This role will be required to:-
Ensure that company standards and procedures are understood and maintained at all times
Proactively contribute to the functioning of the maintenance department, both onshore and offshore, through development of ideas and teamwork
Be proficient in the use of computers, computer programs and software applicable to the post
As required, raise equipment damage or incident reports in Synergi and close out actions when applicable
If allocated to an operational unit liaise with the responsible Rig Manager on all maintenance issues.
Monitor on a daily basis the maintenance activity onboard the allocated rig units
Monitor on a weekly basis the maintenance compliance onboard the allocated rig units by reference to the maintenance schedule in the Planned Preventative Maintenance System
Identify areas of non-compliance on a weekly basis and take action to address any non-compliances
Monitor the status of deviated and corrective work orders on at least a weekly basis
Conduct regular telephone conversations, minimally three times per week, with the Offshore Maintenance Supervisor to discuss maintenance issues pertaining to the unit and identify areas of concern
Be cognizant of all safety alerts issued by regulatory bodies or vendors and ensure that the information is forwarded to the offshore teams as required
Reporting to the client or client representatives, as required, on maintenance issues arising from the allocated rig units
Responsible for establishing conducive relationships with vendors to ensure that materials or repairs are correctly specified, delivered in a timely manner and cost effective
Check spare part requisitions requested by the allocated rig units for correct description of part requirements and quantities and raise queries with when required
Check, approve and monitor repair requisitions to ensure carried out in timely fashion and to expected standards
As required by the status of the allocated units check and approve the purchase orders and invoices
Responsible for ensuring that all legislative requirements applicable to the allocated offshore units are maintained and that documentation arising from legislation is maintained
Responsible for ensuring that all standards and regulations applicable to the allocated offshore units are maintained and that documentation arising from such standards/regulations is maintained
Responsible for developing and managing rig shutdown work scopes and expediting the services required
Assist the Engineering team with project work scopes as required
Liaise with Engineering Project Managers on issues/projects related to the allocated platforms
Responsible as part of the onshore maintenance team to carry out weekend and evening on-call duties on a rotational basis
Responsible for carrying out regular offshore visits to meet with the offshore maintenance teams and check on the effectiveness of the planned maintenance system with spot checks to ensure maintenance is in compliance with required standards
Responsible for initiating or attending meetings, as required, on maintenance matters or matters of importance to company including internal meetings or meetings with the client, vendors, regulatory bodies or third parties.
Be fully conversant with company visions, values and corporate policies and promote them at all opportunities
Support the company disciplinary process where required
Proactive in supporting company safety initiatives
Any other task as delegated by the Lead Maintenance Engineer or Rig Manager.
