Design Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Design Engineer and using predominately Unigraphics NX 3D CAD for steel fabrication design and component modelling, you will need to produce accurate design details, compile product structures and initiate the product change process including technical publications.

Knowledge of welded fabrication design together with use of finite element analysis and vehicle systems would be advantageous. You will need to have a sound engineering background and educated to HND / Degree level in mechanical engineering.

The Role:

Concept work and design studies.

Suggest improvements in component/product design.

Design detailing, bills of materials compilation and drawing release.

Provide prototype build information.

Make design changes and amend all technical documentation.

Produce Finite Element Analysis as required.

Requirements:

Engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience.

Educated to HNC/HND level in mechanical engineering minimum.

Knowledge of construction equipment design including systems.

Must be conversant with sheet metal and fabricated component design.

User of Unigraphics NX 3D CAD system software preferred or equivalent.

PC computer network software, Outlook, Word, Excel.
