An experienced safety systems engineer is required to supplement the existing team in designing hardwired instrument and PLC based safety systems across the nuclear and power generation industry sectors. You will be responsible to the Hardware and QA Managers for all elements of the design, including configuration diagrams, drawings, calculations and test specifications.

Role Description:
*Acting as the responsible engineer for hardwired safety systems.
*Designing safety interlock and shutdown systems to IEC61508 and relevant industry sector standards typically EG90.
*Developing panel general arrangement and schematic drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
*Support to commissioning where required.
*Attend meetings, design reviews and sites where required.
*Liaising with the safety systems consultants where advice or independent V&V is required.

Essential Requirements:
*Educated to HND and preferably degree level in an appropriate engineering discipline.
*Trained and experienced to the practitioner level for IEC61508.
*Skilled in the use of AutoCAD, and documentation tools.
*Experience in the relevant industry sectors.

You can expect a salary of up to £45k, company pension scheme and 23 days holiday + stats per annum. The role may involve some occasional travel to customer sites but predominantly you will be based from the Staffordshire office which is commutable from Macclesfield, Burton Upon Trent, Derby, Tamworth, West Bromwich, Lichfield, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Kidsgrove, Northwich, Stoke on Trent, Stafford, Crewe, Market Drayton, Cannock, Lichfield and Telford.
