Senior Electronic Design Engineer

An experienced Senior Electronic Design Engineer is needed to conduct extensive R&D for innovative and exciting video technology.

We are looking for people who have a passion for their work and the ability to innovate, proposing alternative solutions to projects, taking into account the emergence of new technology and new video standards.

A Senior Electronic Design Engineer will have at least 10 years experience of designing:

Embedded firmware / embedded software for Microchip PICs using Microchip Assembler and to a lesser extent 'C'
Communication protocols / interface standards including RS232, RS422, I2C, SPI, ZigBee etc and the ability to assess and implement customer specific protocols
High speed digital electronics
Low frequency analogue electronics
Power supplies (DC/DC linear etc) and at least 2 years of practical experience in designing:
VHDL in PLD/FPGA for the processing of real-time video, preferably on LATTICE devices under DIAMOND. A Senior Electronic Design Engineer will have a proven track record in all stages of the design and implementation of a product from initial conception to release to market.

Senior Electronic Design Engineer Role:

Assess the full functional requirements of a project or product;
Assess the mechanical constraints of a product (size, weight etc);
Assess, evaluate and propose feasible solutions;
Design the user interface for control of the product, accounting for all required functions;
Design circuits using schematic capture and simulation;
Review and recommend changes to PCB layouts;
Design and code embedded firmware for the control of the product/project;
