A front end web developer to join our existing software team. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating outstanding user experiences through web applications
and will bring in-depth knowledge of front end web development.

Skills, Attributes & Experience
- The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine aptitude for web development and designing great user interfaces.
- You will be passionate about creating beautiful, simple, web applications focussed on the needs of users.
- You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of HTML5 development - HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
- You will have a strong understanding of web standards, and a pragmatic approach to their application.
- Your experience with JavaScript will demonstrate an understanding of:
- Application Architecture - including Design Patterns, Templating and Unit Testing
- Libraries such as Underscore, Backbone, jQuery, Modernizr
- Asynchronous programming, including AJAX, REST, JSON

The Role
As a developer you will be responsible for translating sound educational concepts into intuitive, easy
to use, beautiful to behold web applications. You will be designing and developing for the web and doing so with an old-school dedication to simplicity, flexibility and craftsmanship.
You will work as part of a small dynamic team, and have a significant role in defining not just how our products look but how they work.

The core of the role is working as part of the software team to develop rich, highly interactive online reporting solutions with HTML, CSS & JavaScript. The first 12 months will focus on development of a substantial and exciting interactive online reporting application.
Initially working with colleagues in an iterative design and specification process; then leading on implementing front end components; writing documentation; undertaking rigorous testing and piloting of the solution; and seeing the system through the launch process.
