Head of Technical Services / IT, INTERIM, to £80k

Our client is one of the largest multiplex cinema operators in the UK. Since its creation in 2003 the business has doubled in size by pursuing an aggressive new site build and opening programme and acquiring small circuits, taking the number of sites from 36 to the current 83. With a turnover exceeding £300 million, in excess of 36 million customers every year and over 3,000 employees, the company has an ongoing growth and expansion plan.

Position: Head of Technical Services
Location: Chiswick, Greater London
Salary: £65-80k pro rata + benefits
Duration: 6 month interim position

ROLE:
The Head of Technical Services will ensure effective management and evolution of Technical Services and comprehensive development of user capability, resulting in maximum availability of technical services internally to Vue and externally to remote users and the public. The successful candidate will ensure delivery of departmental goals, objectives and the overall business strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Systems development, budget control and reporting
b) Contract negotiation and supplier management
c) Managing digital systems
d) Systems maintenance
e) Technical Services Helpdesk management
f) Implementing new IT systems and business solutions
g) Refurbishments and new cinema openings
h) Communication, compliance and legal obligations
i) Managing and developing a team

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) You must have managed day-to-day activity in a similar Senior IT Management role (e.g. Head of IT Operations) with overall responsibility for an IT Operations Department in a multi site, customer-facing commercial business within a similar sector (retail, restaurants, hospitality, leisure etc).
b) Managed internal teams with diverse backgrounds and responsibilities.
c) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Environment, SQL Server, Server 2003/2008, Agresso, Juniper Firewalls, Cisco networking equipment, High Availability Systems, Help Desk software, HP Servers, Wide Area Networks (WAN), Microsoft and UNIX operating systems and Disaster recovery planning.
d) Negotiated contracts, SLAs and working agreements and effectively sourced and managed multiple 3rd party service providers.
e) Managed complex IT infrastructure projects.
f) Flexible and willing to work weekends, evenings, Bank Holidays & other peak trading times as required.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Educated to degree level, ideally in a computer science or engineering discipline.
