Junior Digital Marketing Consultant
The remit of the digital marketing team covers search engine optimisation, pay-per-click advertising, and copywriting on behalf of its clients. In addition, it acts as the marketing department at large for this company and therefore carries out generalist marketing as well.
The department is charged with ensuring clients and the agency receive maximum exposure to their target audiences online through the execution of strategic online marketing plans and management of associated KPIs.
Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for managing both Search Engine Optimisation and Pay-Per-Click programmes for both clients and the company itself. Although SEO is your main focus, you will be expected to be active in social media and be a savvy content creator, who understands how to apply the theory and principles of digital marketing to encourage web visitors to convert online.
An ideal candidate for this role will be able to provide strong evidence of the following:
At least one year's experience in a dedicated SEO position (preferably in an agency environment)
At least one year's experience managing successful PPC campaigns
Proven experience increasing and maintaining online ranking results across all search engines using industry best practices
A demonstrable understanding of the business objectives behind SEO and PPC
Highly conversant in Microsoft Excel; good understanding of the principles of HTML; uses SEOMoz, Google Analytics, Adwords, and Webmaster Tools regularly
Has strong experience of building high quality links from a range of legitimate sources
Knows how to build links organically by creating fantastic content and distributing it through social bookmarking, press sites, guest blogging, and relevant online communities
Familiar with Drupal Content Management Systems and/or others
Thinks strategically, acts pragmatically
Job Specifics
Under the direction of the Head of Digital Marketing and in conjunction with the rest of the team, you will handle a growing portfolio of websites for both SMEs and large corporate clients. Because of this, you will be able to manage a variety of different projects at the same time, and use your experience to ensure they are run effectively and proactively.
In addition to the general requirements detailed above, the post will also cover the following:
Devise SEO and PPC campaign schedules to provide our clients with a transparent and accountable scheme of work
Generate regular and ad hoc reports on SEO and PPC activity for our clients
Propose and action link building strategies
Conduct keyword research
Monitor SEO and PPC key performance indicators and take necessary actions to ensure our clients' websites remain optimised
Develop and maintain productive relationships with our web development team
Review clients' website content and make suggestions and/or optimise it for better search engine visibility
Work autonomously but closely with the rest of the digital marketing team, ensuring the Head of Digital Marketing has a good overview of the status of all projects on a regular basis
Contribute to the overall corporate digital marketing strategy as and when required by the senior management team Full training will be provided in all aspects of SEO and PPC
