Our client is one of the UK’s largest communications agencies. They have an opportunity for an Account Manager to join their team at their in their Cheshire offices.

Purpose:

To lead, manage and proactively develop accounts so that the objectives of the client are met. This involves developing a strong client relationship and effective management of available resources to ensure good teamwork and that company standards are maintained. The Account Manager is responsible for overall client satisfaction.

Main Duties:
Client Support:

Agree and follow communication and approval processes with clients
Provide timely and appropriate advice
Demonstrate knowledge of therapeutic area, market, audience and key messages
Thorough understanding of client environment
Able to develop strong relationships with clients
To be the central/lead contact
Able to lead project status meetings
To work across more than one account
Take and communicate client brief and work with account team to ensure client requirements and overall objectives are met
Able to work with international thought leaders on educational programmes providing clear and timely communication and acting in the interest of the client and the company at all times
Overall financial responsibility including written proposal, budgeting, monitoring of budgets, timely invoicing etc.
Excellent verbal and written communicator with all contacts (internal and external)
Good negotiator (both with clients and suppliers)

Internal Liaison:

Leadership, motivation and support of the whole account team – promotes teamwork
Appropriate, clear and effective internal communication
Lead efficient working practices with other departments ensuring clear communication, briefing and feedback and promoting teamwork
Identify and resolve internal issues
Share best practice across account team and departments

Delivery:

Ensure delivery of content and output to meet client brief
Excellent project management and organisational skills to ensure projects are on time, on budget, on message/spec
Clear written communication with client and internal team (e.g. proposals, status reports)
Set up and drive processes to enable team to deliver agreed financial targets in an effective manner
Proactive and service orientated, aims to exceed client expectation

Business Development:

Proactively develop business within existing accounts and clients

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Life science degree
Previous experience of running pharmaceutical marketing accounts on a day to day basis.
Confident and decisive
