Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Norbert Dentressangle Norbert Logistics UK is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join the team within our Temp & Ambient Food Business Unit, to be based from the Midlands. You will be fully accountable for financial activities across multiple sites, take the lead on certain wider business unit projects and also deputising for the BU Financial controller. You will be report into the BU Financial Controller and operationally into the Regional Director.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting through continual review and improvement whilst developing strong business partnering with operational and commercial teams.

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:

Provide full financial decision making support and challenge to the Regional Director
Participate fully in ongoing operational improvements, providing analytical support and identifying cost saving opportunities
Be involved in any significant new business / re-tender proposals
Analyse and interpret results and trends to identify underlying performance and cause of movement from budgets
Prioritise and agree remedial action plans to improve financial and operational performance
Produce and present site performance reports to the BU and customer base
Manage the onsite finance teams - recruit, train, coach, building succession plans and highlighting star talent
Manage and drive the highest standards of management and financial reporting (is it required, is it efficient, can it be improved)
Review current processes to ensure effective and efficient management of the company`s finances and compliance with company procedures
Oversee and manage the production of annual budgets, interim forecasts, variance analysis, scenario planning and provision of relevant management information
Full review of balance Sheet reconciliations, risks and opportunities to be clearly identified with Regional Director
Evaluation, monitoring and control of all Capital Expenditure
Assisting management in resolving customer queries

The ideal candidate will:

Have full accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
Have previous financial control experience across multiple sites and clients
Ideally have a background in logistics and transport
Be technically strong and analytical with a high level of IT literacy
Be commercially focused, ambitious and able to demonstrate a current operational management accounting background that is complimented by a proven involvement in the commercial aspects of a business
Possess a results drive attitude, prepared to challenge the status quo
Have excellent communication skills with strong influencing and presentation abilities
Be a strong team player with the ability to inspire confidence and credibility
Have previous experience of managing a team, demonstrating strong coaching, mentoring and performance management skills
