Description

This challenging role will carry responsibility for launching supplied steering components to the right quality and cost into TRW’s production sites across Europe. You will provide technical and strategic input into the Product Line supplier ‘foot print’, participate as needed on TRW teams and interact effectively with other TRW technical departments and assembly plant personnel. You will support systemic improvement, development/advancement of procedures and achievement of company goals and objectives. This position will require frequent visits to assigned supplier locations, TRW assembly plants and off-site meeting locations

What you’ll do

• Be responsible for ensuring flawless launch of supplied components for the European Steering Organization
• Focus on early engagement with the Engineering organization to ensure optimal designs are created and will drive achievement of quality, capacity, and timing requirements with the supply base
• Execute standard Advanced Product Quality Planning tools (APQP)
• Provide key insight into potential design and manufacturing pitfalls that can arise, so that these are addressed at an early stage
• Regularly engage with the Advanced Engineering organization in order to feed this information upstream
• Engage in major production crises and support the organization to help resolve key complex supplier issues
• Regular engagement and management of internal and external customers

What we are looking for

Essential:

• Bachelors degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or related area
• Significant knowledge and demonstrated experience of Electronics Manufacturing
• Significant knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes
• Highly developed analytical skills
• Computer literate (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, mainframe)
• Willingness to travel, includng throughout Europe

Desirable:
• ASQC Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQA)
• ISO-9000/TS16949 Lead Assessor training
• AIAG Manual knowledge and/or Special Process Assessment CQI15 and CQI16
• Product and manufacturing knowledge of TRW or similar organisations
• Experience of working in automotive industry either at a vehicle manufacturer or 1st tier supplier
• Experience working with a global team
