Position: Stress Engineer / Stress Team Leader
Location: Isle of Wight
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

The Background…

A Leading Aerospace company is seeking a Stress Engineer & a Stress Team Leader to join its growing team in the Isle of Wight to execute stress analysis in support of Engineering project requirements for products and their components and in support of the development of existing and new products/structures.

The Role…

As a Stress Engineer your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
-Develop technical solutions which are compliant with all relevant requirements, within agreed programs, timescales and manufacturing constraints.
-Ensure design compliance by applying classical methods of analysis.
-Assist with delivering Stress projects to completion on time, within budget and to the agreed technical requirements.
-Assure the structural integrity of designs by appropriate static stress analysis and fatigue stress analysis

As a Stress Team Leader you will have additional managerial responsibilities.

You…

You'll have proven experience in a similar Stress role, preferably within an Aerospace or Defence environment.
You'll ideally be educated to BSc or HND level in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering or relevant subject, or will have equivalent working experience.
You'll have experience of Hand calculation methods (including the use of Mathcad), finite element techniques (Nastran or Patran preferred), derivation of material and component allowables (including the use of statistical techniques).
A good knowledge of the overall static structural substantiation process and the fatigue substantiation process.
You'll have a knowledge of the drawing and design processes including WINDCHILL and a knowledge of the manufacturing processes used to produce different airframe configurations
Skilled in tools such as CATIA V5, Hyperworks and Hypermesh will certainly hold you in good stead.

You'll have team leader or managerial experience for the Stress Team Leader position.
