Our client is looking to recruit Graduate Electrical Design Engineers to work within the Engineering Department. This company offer tremendous opportunities for growth, development and stability.
The appointed Electrical Design Engineer will be put through a structured training programme internally and externally and will be assigned to a number of external training courses.
Reporting to a Senior Design Engineer/Lead Engineer or Chief Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of engineering designs and drawings, which meet the requirements defined by the task leader, whilst at the same time ensuring that the completed work package incorporates best practice in all areas.
Key responsibilities of this role are as follows:
Responsible for the creation of electrical schematic drawings. Which will include wiring diagrams, block diagrams, harness drawings, IFE drawings and bonding/ grounding diagrams
Responsible for the creation of electrical installation design and detail modeling of a variety of suite components in order to meet the program requirements.
Management of cost and weight targets
Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process
The selection and application of materials and processes appropriate to each design element
Ensure the successful integration of each design element with the product as a whole
Follow and contribute to the development of the Best Practice guidelines as laid out in BMS documentation
To check engineering packages
Generate and/or revise specifications
The key Requirements for the role are as follows;
A working knowledge of the principle of electrical installation and systems integration and design
A working knowledge of the various methods of manufacture of electrical and mechanical components and assemblies.
An understanding of protective treatments and material selection.
An understanding of aircraft architecture with a working knowledge of Boeing, Airbus requirements (D6-36440 etc)
An understanding of the best practice for the integration of mechanical and electrical systems
Awareness of the certification framework within which the work is undertaken.
Educated to HNC/HND level or an equivalent qualification in an Electrical Engineering field, you will possess sufficient engineering capability and experience to create effective engineered solutions The successful candidate will also possess a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook and hold experience of CAD/CATIA/SOLIDWORKS packages as well as aircraft knowledge.
This role essentially requires someone who is a competent communicator with the ability to establish good-working relationships across departments and become an effective team player. You will be required to hold a full U.K. driving license, as U.K. and some overseas travel may be required.
