Mechanical Design Engineer
Mechanical Design Engineer to lead a team of designers with our client based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. The successful candidate will be required to direct and supervise all aspects of the Design and Development function for this extremely successful manufacturing organisation. The role encompasses Design for Quality (continuous improvement), Design for Production/Manufacturing Flow and new product design and production implementation. You will be able to deliver appropriate, mature, right first time, fully integrated technical solutions and to seek out, support and drive cost saving initiatives where there is engineering involvement.
As well as being Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering our client believes the role also needs a minimum of 5 years experience of technical leadership and supervision of projects and project teams to time, quality and cost objectives within a similar or comparable work environment. You will have experience of successfully training and mentoring junior staff and the ability to establish effective working relationships with all departments to ensure effective outcomes. Extensive experience of working in a Lean manufacturing environment, specifically: Value Stream Mapping, 5S, TPM, OEE, Root cause analysis tools such as Ishikawa and 5 Why and experience of working within ISO 9001 and 9004. It is important to stress that our client is still in the early stages of their 'Lean' transition and require someone with experience of change management as well as the ability to recruit and train graduate engineers. The team is currently an eight strong mixture of Graduate Engineers, Designers and Technicians.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Management team and will therefore command a starting salary up to £45.000 per annum plus benefits.
