Summary:

Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair.

Exercises minimal independent judgment with direction from supervisor.

Qualifications/Experience:

Previous maintenance experience required. Skills and Competencies: Communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.

Responsibilities:

Working within the maintenance and test team, the successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance within Bay 27, covering breakdowns, TPM, Continuous Improvement Work and on-going maintenance improvements and installations.
To be able to fault find on electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits. - Able to integrate into an established team and work in a team based environment- To work to a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
To liaise with the manufacturing, engineering and quality departments to ensure smooth role out of new products and initiatives.
Managing your own projects within your area of responsibility. - Must work well in a team environment and on own initiative.
This role covers 3-shift rotation system and weekend work.
PLC knowledge is preferable. - 17th edition wiring regulation qualified (preferred)

Applicants should be NVQ Level 3/Time served apprentice, be able to integrate into an established team and work in a team based environment and be pro-active with their work.
Applicants should also possess good communication skills and have an organised approach to work with the ability to maintain appropriate records. Experience of Shift working is essential

Also:

Word, Excel, CAD 2D/3D experience desirable
FLT, Cherry Picker licence would be an advantage but not essential.
Ideally posse's logical way of fault finding
Ability to maintain records as required
