Manufacturing Engineer
As Manufacturing Engineer with a leading automotive manufacturing business you will support the operation in terms of providing the means and process to manufacture meachanical components to the correct quality, volume & cost. Candidates require HND / HNC or Degree + knowledge of CNC machining & grinding, working on a production line and ideally knowledge of six sigma. In return you will work 07.30 - 15.30 Monday to Friday & receive a basic salary with pension, dental, subsidized restaurant
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer will include:
To actively reduce costs of manufacture whilst maintaining product quality & volume.
Support the hourly needs of the operation by monitoring and responding to process output KPI's.
Work closely with operations to ensure production output targets are sustained
Be responsible for ensuring that all equipment used in manufacturing or assembly processes is functioning and in specification.
To identify and/or support continuous improvement activities including process development within the plant
To identify and/or support lean activities within the plant
Be responsible for ensuring that all gauging equipment used in manufacturing or assembly cell is functioning, working within specification and calibrated
Maintain process to ensure adherence to accepted quality standards and to the sites quality system requirements
To generate, process and employ the use of data in problem resolution (6 sigma\ Shanin etc.)
To provide structured problem solving activity and liaise with internal and/or external individuals on problem resolution
The ideal Manufacturing Engineer :
Will be educated with (Mechanical) Engineering Degree or HND, HNC or 'time served'
Experience of CNC machining & grinding
Production line experience
Quality / cost improvement experience
Experience of problem solving tools:- 6 Sigma & Shanin
Automotive production line experience would be an advantage
You must be able to work in the UK with a valid visa over 2 years.
