Principal Systems Engineer

The client:

The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The role:

To provide high level technical support on multiple systems to both internal and external customers on a variety or service projects within the Oil and Gas sector.

Key duties include:

„« Ensure all technical challenges are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
„« Provide effective and timely technical and commercial assistance to the Proposals Department
„« Clearly define, document and communicate existing and new solutions to ensure maximum learning for the team
„« Assist in the development of the Project Quality Plans to include any project-specific procedures and monitor / control implementation of projects in relation to defined controls.
„« Conduct regular internal progress reviews and update plans accordingly
„« Provide technical approval of Oil and Gas Project generated documents and designs
„« Ensure timely issue of documentation in accordance with the Supplier Document Schedules
„« Manage a variety of people covering a range of skills and experiences

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

„« Degree qualified and or CEng (HNC minimum)
„« Oil and Gas experience
„« Knowledge of DCS, ESD systems
„« Full project life cycle experience
„« Flexible on Travel and working hours
„« Strong knowledge of IEC 61508

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

„« Valid offshore certificate desirable
„« Knowledge of 800XA
