Graduate Mechanical Engineer

A excellent opportunity for Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join an established company who designs and supplies specialist subsea products for use in the offshore oil and gas industry. This expanding company are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to work in their Surrey office. You can expect to be involved in expanding operations, developing new technology as well as pursuing and delivering project work.

Roles and Key Areas of Responsibility

Product design engineering, including engineering calculations (MS Excel) and analysis (ANSYS), conceptual and detailed product design, review of design drawings and preparation of technical documentation.
Prototype testing, including management of prototype fabrication, design and development of testing arrangements, supervision and assistance with testing, interpretation of testing results and documentation of the completed testing.
Liaising with suppliers, technical review of supplier capabilities and supplier tender submissions.
Working with suppliers to ensure designs are practical, efficient and manufacturable.
Technical monitoring of supplier progress and resolution of technical issues that arise during contract execution.
Project management and progress reporting to clients and company management.
Development of project documentation, including specifications, requisitions and procedures for materials, fabrication, assembly, operation and maintenance.
Create client-focused product specifications for design team guidance; ensuring compliance with statutory and industry requirements; industry leading design and price point.
Manage the design verification process with independent verification authorities, including design review and qualification testing.

Qualifications and Experience
Educated to a UK degree level or equivalent. Suitable engineering disciplines include mechanical, structural, aerospace, marine/offshore; alternately naval architecture and mathematics.
