Job Position: Engineering Lead - Technical Authority

Reporting To: Head of Projects

Job Status: Permanent Staff Position

Context and Purpose:

This Engineering Lead - Technical Authority will work directly in the Technical Authority Team in partnership with the wider project team to provide support & expertise on the various activities of a CCD and CMOS design, development and manufacturing project. The Engineering Lead will focus on learning within the role whilst carrying out engineering tasks, technical authority activity & solving hands on technical problems. The Engineering Lead will have internal & external customer liaison responsibilities supported by the Technical Authorities within the Imaging business.
As part of a structured Technical Authority Development Programme the Engineering Lead role aims to build on the individual's current experience to further progress on the technical career path. Main Accountabilities:

Successfully complete the Technical Authority Development Programme
Product verification
To ensure that the requirements of the Project and the "Customer" (internal or external) as defined by: Specification

Statement of Work

Project PA plan or Company QA procedures are met and that this can be/has been demonstrated.

Technical Assessment

Review project specifications and advise on feasibility of proposal
Product Control
To ensure that the appropriate equipment, processes and documentation (the Product Build State) exists for the correct manufacturing of the Product.
Communicate technical information to internal and external interested parties (written and verbal) in style relevant to the audience.
Risk Management
To manage the technical risk on a project and to implement mitigation activities as appropriate.
Technical Assessment
To support the compiling of technical project proposals for internal projects based on project scope documents to meet the aims of the project.
Further the groups understanding of CCDs, CMOS and related aspects through investigations & improvement projects. Experience Essential:

MS Project
MS Office
Electronic engineering
Good knowledge of Semiconductors
MIL-STD and ESA QA requirements
Risk Management
Export Legislation
Presentation Skills
SAP
Change control systems Desirable:
