ENGINEERING MANAGER/SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
PURPOSE OF JOB:
he role of the Engineering Manager is to manage the engineering and projects resources within the company, including drafting personnel, and discipline engineers and to ensure that the department is properly resourced for the workload of the business.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
EXPERIENCE:
5 years experience in structural analysis and engineering within the Oil and Gas industry.
Experienced in structure modeling and analysis for offshore structures, lift analysis, load out, transport analysis etc.
Relevant degree
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Previous experience of drilling structures or offshore structures.
Experience of either Strucad, STAAD and/or FS2000.
MAIN DUTIES:
Deal with Technical, Engineering and Design features of works undertaken by company
Set engineering criteria.
Resolve all internal technical queries.
Advise and assist client engineering personnel on technical matters.
Liaise with all departments involved in the production of engineering drawings, technical studies etc. to ensure compliance with specified engineering requirements and controlling API product specifications
Liaise with and assist projects personnel in preparation of bids/tenders for any engineering/structural engineering works to be provided.
Provide projects personnel with any input required to facilitate their communications with the client on structural engineering matters. Creation of engineering design briefs for client approval
Liaise with designers at all stages of design process, providing engineering input by way of engineering analyses, calculations, drawings and general support.
Provide engineering checks, comments and approval of all structural drawings issued by the drawing office, and perform any engineering as appropriate.
Produce engineering verification reports which detail all engineering works performed and provide design verification and code checks as appropriate to meet project requirements.
Maintain engineering project files to ensure all design criteria data, critical engineering correspondence, survey drawings, calculations, analysis models, reports and other important information are collated in such a way as to facilitate other structural engineers when absent.
Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering codes and standards.
Work within company guidelines with the emphasis to remain flexible, profitable and to promote the company at all times
