Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager - London - £42,000 - £45,000 per year plus excellent benefits.

My client is one of the leading names in the Fire and Protection Industry, with several offices strategically situated around the UK. They have grown from strength to strength over the last few years and are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join their London operations team.

The main duties will consist of managing all projects across the London region with responsibility to ensure all regional service support staff, service engineers and commissioning Engineers are fulfilling their everyday duties. Other key responsibilities are to ensure that the business is operating efficiently and profitably inline with the company targets and policies. The Engineering Manager will be expected to work closely with Engineering Development Manager, other Engineering Managers across the UK and also the Financial Director; who you will report directly once a month with the figures for your region. The Engineering Manager will be expected to plan Engineers workloads, plan call out and overtime rotas, conduct appraisals, ensure they are motivated and are fully aware of any changes in company policies. The role will have a fair deal of client meetings, business development , review of service agreements and contract negotiations.

The Ideal Engineering Manager should have a 5 checkable work background with 3 of them in a similar role. Must have evidence of managing Engineers and Supervisors with strong technical ability.Must be degree qualified or hold an equivalent qualification. Must have indepth knowledge of the fire and security industry especially the relevant British Standards and hold the FIA qualifications (1 - 6 at least).
The Engineering Manager must also have good communication skills, the ability to deal with suppliers, customers, staff and managers and holds an IOSH qualification.
