Job Title: Technical Trainer (Electrical Engineering/Facilities Management-Retail Sector)

Location: North West - Home Based with some national travel

Salary £34,000 plus car or exceptional car allowance plus Private Medical, Pension, Laptop and Mobile.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen within a large and dynamic Facilities Management company, who continue to enjoy sustained growth with its impressive multi-site client base.

As a result of recent organisational change, we are now embarking on an important recruitment exercise for our client.

This will result in the appointment of a high profile Technical Trainer who will assume responsibility for the design and deliver of electrical engineering training across a number of sites.

In this role, you will be responsible for the research, design, delivery and evaluation of technical training solutions for engineers.

Applicants must be electrically qualified and have experience of delivering City and Guilds electrical qualifications i.e. C&G 2382,

You should have good PC skills, a working knowledge of current H&S legislation and any previous experience in training would be beneficial but not essential as internal and external development opportunities will be provided

We are interested to hear from candidates who are prepared to cover multiple sites.

You will be a strong training professional, with a high level of training delivery experience and a people person who knows how to get the best out of people in a dynamic training environment where delivering service excellence tops the agenda.

You will have excellent communication skills, be able to influence at all levels in the organisation and more importantly be able to take responsibility for your own decisions.

JOB PURPOSE:

To research, design and deliver technical training solutions in the trainer’s specialist disciplines, in accordance with the needs of the business, and to assess the skills and knowledge of trainees before, during and after training.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

To ensure that the technical training content in the trainer’s specialist disciplines is accurate, up to date with technology and always relevant to the skill levels defined for the business.

To design technical training solutions and objective assessment tools for distance learning, classroom, workshop or field delivery, to the standards and templates provided by the business.

To ensure that the training content is constantly kept up to date with statutory and company regulations regarding fire, Health & Safety and security, particularly with regard to the law applying to the trainer’s specialist disciplines.

To follow the design management standards of the business that ensure that all training materials are properly reviewed and proofed by the appropriate person before use.

To deliver technical training solutions to the standards set by the business, in particular ensuring a high degree of participation by trainees through active encouragement and support of learning.

To carry out pre- and post-training assessment, to the standards set by the business, to evaluate the effectiveness of training and ensure that trainees are applying the learning successfully.

To follow the administration procedures of the business to ensure that the correct facilities, equipment and materials are available for training at the right time and to the right quality.

To contribute creative ideas to the continual improvement of the quality of technical training material and its effective delivery.

To strive continually to improve own knowledge and skills in technical, legal, design, computing and delivery areas.

To coach others within the training department in the trainer’s specialist knowledge and skills.
