The Engineering group can also be involved in joint-development activities with other Group wide development groups.
The Role:
The Electronics Engineer will be involved in the design and development of High Voltage power supplies and ancillary electronics across the entire range of equipment within the Product Catalogue. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
*Design and development of High Voltage power supplies and ancillary electronics up to 500kV and 1kW. Additionally includes low voltage DC power supplies (some programmable) and design of both digital and analogue interfaces to other elements of our systems and control and monitoring of vacuum and cooling systems. Safety of operators and service personnel is a paramount concern.
*The candidate will be involved in all stages from concept through technical approval to launch into production.
*The candidate will also be involved in various other aspects of x-ray system design such as EMC compliance and design of motion control systems, power distribution and warning and interlock systems.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to:

*Design of full wave and half wave multipliers - must understand HV voltage insulation and how to optimise mechanical assemblies to distribute high voltage stress evenly. Should have a sound knowledge of high voltage components.
*Design of High Voltage transformers and power magnetics.
*Creation of circuit schematics and layout of multi layer PCBs, will need to appreciate and understand techniques to optimise track layout for High Voltage and/or High Current and optimisation of board layout to minimise EMC generation, especially in switching circuits.
