Mechanical Design Engineer, Sheffield

Connections Recruitment are working with a client based in Sheffield who have the opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

Working in a small team, you will be responsible for:

*Mechanical design of equipment and systems for lifting and mechanical handling
*Mechanical design of equipment and systems for specialist inspection tooling
*Design of load and force measurement systems including load cell mounting units, protection devices, supporting structures to withstand the normally applied loads and those due to seismic and wind loading.
*Design of lifting and mechanical handling equipment to appropriate standards and including the analysis of forces and stresses, specification of beams & sections and welding detail

Experience Required
*Knowledge and experience of an industrial environment such as oil & gas, metals, mechanical handling
*Force and stress analysis of components, structures and mechanisms
*Design and analysis of equipment and the production of mechanical engineering drawings to relevant national & international standards

A competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 plus benefits is available for the successful candidate.
