Our client are a family owned engineering business approaching a century of trading. They are a multi disciplined company with sections covering mechanical, electrical and diesel engine/generator and transmission engineering, with 35 staff covering these 3 areas. All sections of the business will at times combine to undertake a major contract such as a recent contract where they installed 2 x 900KVA diesel generators, acoustics, fuel supply and electrical controls for standby power in a hospital. Their Mechanical Services are based around pipework installations and their associated equipment including steam and hot water boilers, heat exchangers, chillers, pumps, fuel and water storage tanks, diesel generators, etc.
They require a graduate/qualified Mechanical Engineer to fill the position of Trainee Mechanical Project Engineer to assist our Mechanical Engineering Manager in all facets of projects, from conception, design and tendering, through to commissioning and invoicing.
You will have industrial pipe fitting experience, be able to weld, ideally have some project management experience and be confident facing customers (internal & external) and third parties. This is an opportunity for someone with hands-on experience to get involved with project engineering & management so you will be looking to progress your career into a client-facing position.
