Compactor & Baler Field Service Engineer

My client is a leading provider of waste handling equipment in the UK. The company sell, service and maintain compactors, balers, presses, shredders and crushers on a nationwide basis employing skilled and trained engineers.

They require an experienced compactor and baler field service engineer to cover an area around London & the South East.

Job Title: Service Engineer

Reports to: General Manager

Purpose:

To use their expertise and knowledge on clients’ compacting equipment to provide the optimum service levels in a prompt, accurate and commercially efficient manner.

Key responsibilities:

To ensure their technical skills and knowledge are constantly maintained and improved to provide what clients perceive as the best in the business.

To ensure a smart appearance, on-time arrivals at clients premises at the earliest convenient time and always providing an image of high standards and efficiency.

To carry out work in a consistent way which will ensure customer confidence.

To aim to never leave premises without the client being fully aware and in agreement with all actions taken and always getting reports signed off by the client.

To ensure that all paperwork relating to work completed is sent back to the office within 24 hours of completion.

To refer back to the General Manager issues beyond their knowledge or which they do not feel confident in processing.

To be capable of thinking through problems and arriving at considered solutions which inspire confidence in clients and develop long-term relationships with them and the company.

To be aware of developments in technology and techniques and ensure that they are always able to acquire knowledge and use it on jobs.

To be prepared to be available for other duties (such as working from the head office for a period/ working in the south of the UK or overseas) should needs arise.

The exact salary and package will depend on experience and will be discussed at interview stage.
