Description

Yorkshire Water manages the collection, treatment and distribution of water around the Yorkshire region, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day – that’s a lot of water!

At the same time we also collect, treat and dispose of approximately one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment.

But we’re about much more than just water and sewerage services and our people work across a wide range of areas including IT, Finance and Regulation, HR and Health & Safety.

To help us achieve our vision of ‘taking responsibility for the water environment for good’ we currently have a vacancy for a Contract Support Technician. The Contract Team you will be joining is part of the Network Optimisation Team and provides bespoke contract solutions for the Customer Service and Networks Business Unit. We aim to optimise our partners service delivery at best value through effective and progressive Contract Management.

What is the purpose of the role?
As a Contract Support Technician you will be responsible for maintaining the focus on commercial conditions and costs associated with designated contracts, identifying and mitigating commercial risks. You will also be expected to realise opportunities for cost savings.

What will your role involve?
In the role you will be required to maintain a strong working relationship with contract partners and work promoters to ensure a consistently high level of service is provided. You will also maintain and develop cost control processes and procedures required to meet expenditure targets across various work streams and ensure contract partners are complying with the contract commercial incentives.

Your role will involve tracking unit costs against work streams, identifying and analysing trends. Identify opportunities for cost savings through innovation and sharing of good practice between contract partners. Identify cost elements which require further analysis to ensure that costs are appropriate, accurate and justified under the contract.

What skills are we looking for?
You will have experience of using Excel with particular focus on analysing and interpretating data and be proficient in the use of pivot tables, V look-ups and formulas.

Ideally you will have experience of delivering against challenging business targets and working within in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment. Previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors is desirable.

What is in it for you?
Career enhancement and development, colleague well being and a genuinely positive work experience for all are key priorities. We are continuously evolving and improving our ways of working and you will support us in achieving our vision of 'taking responsibility for the water environment for good'.

If you feel that this opportunity is suitable and you match the skills required, then please complete the on-line application form.
