Engineering Support Technician

Engineering Support Technician. Salary to £30k. Based in Southampton, Hampshire.

A leading electronics company require an Engineering Support Technician. Within this role you will provide a support service to a wide range of internal and external customers including manufacturers and design engineering teams.

Key requirements for this role include: knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical assembly so as to be able to build units to a high standard; knowledge if IP networking, including the ability to configure IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateways; upgrade of units via wizard or FTP; "first pass" unit testing to ensure units and systems meet their basic requirements; general laboratory management, including cabling, patch panel configuration etc; ability to use test equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes for measurement and test; basic level of electronic circuit tracing and debug.

Candidates will have a minimum of 2 years experience within a similar role. An ability to work under your initiative is essential as is an ability to communicate and liaise with other departments.
