Our client based in Northampton is a Sector leading UK FTSE 250 Plc and proud to say one of Britain's Top Employers. They continue to grow their business through strong organic sales and by the acquisition of leading product specialists.
They currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Partner to join their extensive IT Department in Northampton.
The role of the Business Partner is to own the relationship between IT and the Business Function(s).
To work closely with the Business Function(s) becoming fully conversant with their business model, requirements and strategy, being accepted as their IT Business Partner. Acting as a communication portal between IT and the Business functions and providing project management, analytical and technical expertise as required.
To ensure that the IT Department personnel understand and are clearly focused on the main requirements of the Business Function(s) and that the Business Function(s) personnel understand and are kept fully aware of the related activities of the IT Department.
Key Performance Areas will be
•Work in partnership with the Operating Business management team to fully understand the business objectives and strategy to ensure that these are translated and supported by IT systems, applications, processes and projects. Champion the business need to drive delivery through effective IT solutions.
•Support the Operating Business IT requirements by taking accountability for delivery of specific IT projects. Work with IT Programme Delivery and Infrastructure teams to understand current and future IT support and facilitate the effective project management of future developments.
•Work with stakeholders through regular business reviews to translate the business IT requirements and ensure they are documented to IT Department standards and can be accessed by IT colleagues.
•Build strong working relationships with the Operating Business, to ensure that the business and the IT department are kept fully aware and up to date with items of common interest and to identify issues and risks as early as possible. Drive effective relationships by ensuring IT deliver a strong service and that any conflicts or issues are resolved promptly.
•Use Group IT Programme and Project Management methodology to ensure that all IT developments are documented, reviewed and kept on track. Ensure that all project development includes specifying business requirements, cost /benefit analysis, prioritisation, consultation, pilots, user acceptance testing, communication and post implementation analysis.
•Act as the link between the business, the specialist IT teams and external parties to specify business requirements during a project lifecycle. Manage stakeholder relationships through project developments and ensure that changes to scope are communicated and any delivery delays are understood and agreed with stakeholders.
•Ensure that the Business Relationship Manager receives regular reports on Business progress; including regular reviews of prioritised work schedules, work in progress and future developments.
•Assist the Business Relationship Manager, senior IT managers and the operating business with the Annual Budgeting process (AOP).
•Manage effective working relationship with stakeholders, matrix management across the IT function and manage a team of Business Analyst, as required.

•Experience of analysing and documenting complex business requirements
•Experience of writing management reports, requirements analysis and functional design specifications
•Good knowledge of the full software development life cycle in a commercial environment.
•Numerate and able to apply logical problem solving.
•Highly analytical with attention to detail.
•Focussed on customer service and quality.
•Project management skills.
•Familiar with appropriate technology and trends.
•Willingness to travel to Business Function sites.
