Senior Software Engineer
IOT Senior Software Engineer
Salary: £45,000 DOE
Location: Fleet, Hampshire (UK)
Purpose of Role
·Analyse, design and implement features for interoperability testing system (SAS).
·Root cause analysis of field issues and internally generated bug reports.
·Proactively investigate and implement bug fixes in cooperation with development management and other internal teams.
·Become a system expert within the development organisation.
·Work closely with internal teams to deliver technical solutions according to development plans and quality standards.
·Participate in system testing activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
·Gain in-depth technical knowledge of systems.
·Work with internal and sub-contractor teams to ensure clear communication of technical issues.
·Investigate and manage technical issues accurately.
·Participate in software development lifecycle activities to deliver and validate new features and fixes according to required timescales and risks.
·Use experience of wireless communications protocols (GSM/GPRS/3G/HSPA and LTE) to identify and provide appropriate technical solutions.
·Proactively manage development risks and issues in cooperation with management team.
Essential Skills
·Engineering/science degree or equivalent academic qualifications/experience
·3+ years of experience in technical roles within software development organisations.
·Experience of wireless communications protocols (e.g. GSM/GPRS/UMTS/LTE).
·Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills.
·High standard of programming in C/C++ or C#.
·Experience in development for embedded and PC targets.
·Good working knowledge of software development lifecycles and best practices.
·Appreciation of testing methodologies.
·Full appreciation of configuration management & issue tracking management issues and systems.
·Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
·Ability to work well under pressure.
·Determination to find and deliver the right solution and deliver.
·Quality and results focussed.
·Demonstrably strong verbal and written communications skills.
Desirables
·Microsoft COM, .Net development technologies.
·IMS or SIP.
·TCP/IP networking.
·Experience within mobile wireless chipset/handset manufacturers or network operators.
·Appreciation or experience in software or systems testing.

·Travel may be required
