Infrastructure Engineer (2nd/3rd Line Support)

The Position
The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of technical support to desktop users, peripherals (printers etc), laptops applications and related technology in order to sustain business continuity.
You will also respond to support calls logged via the service desk ensuring all calls are progressed within Service Level Agreements. As well as to maintain, enhance and develop server systems, network and related infrastructure for customers.
Maintain server infrastructure to ensure minimal service disruption and the efficient running of customers’ business systems, by adhering to ITIL foundation principles or equivalent documented procedures.
Specific Duties are to include:
•Performance Objectives for a Desktop Support Analyst (2nd Line Support) and Network / Server Support Analyst (3rd Line Support).
•Technically resolve the hardware, software, application, network or user issues leading to the support call.
•Deployment of hardware, software, application packages, patch network outlets, audit PCs, etc.
•Setup network user accounts, mailboxes, home areas and user profiles.
•Adherence to logging tickets and responding to calls from the 1st Line Support Team within agreed SLAs and to strict timescales.
•Technically resolve the hardware, software, application, network or user issues leading to the support call to pre-agreed SLA’s.
•Install, configure and maintain network infrastructure.
•Maintain routers and switches configuration.
•Consolidate and maintain multi-domain servers such as Windows.
•Recommend and implement modifications to improve the speed of the network/server.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
Key Skills
•3-5+ year’s commercial experience of 2nd/3rd line support.
•Experience configuring and administering programs such as Active Directory, Exchange, Alritis and Blackberry.
•Experience in a fast-paced environment supporting 100+ customers/clients on a daily basis.
•Setup network user accounts, mailboxes, home areas and user profiles.
•Sound knowledge of LAN/WAN/VPN networking and how to troubleshoot/solve problems relating to these networks.
•Knowledge of IP routing.
•Strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
•Methodical with a strong attention to detail towards every task completed.
•A logical problem solver who enjoys finding solutions to problems.
•Remains calm under pressure and you are able to prioritise workloads at all time.
•ITIL Certification (desirable).
The Package
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000+ DOE
