Trainee IT Support Technician

Entry level - Trainee - Administrative support to the IT Department.

As a Trainee IT Support Technician you will provide crucial administrative support to our existing IT Operations team.

The Role

•Providing general administrative support to the IT Operations team;

•Monitoring the IT Support mailbox and logging emails and gathering further information for the IT Support Technicians;

•Providing hands on support with Printer maintenance issues;

•Provide telephone support during the IT Operations site hours;

•Handle initial information gathering to support the resolution of day to day support issues and requests both hardware and software, providing resolution where possible Receiving, unpacking and checking off IT deliveries;

•Ensuring that the issue call log is up to date;

•Involvement in testing potentially faulty equipment;

The Person

•You will have a keen interest in IT;

•Be organised with the ability to be self-motivated;

•Have the ability to be thorough and meticulous;

•Be of Entry level looking to kick start your IT career;

•Good communicator and customer service focussed;

•A good knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel is advantageous;

•Always working towards providing the highest level of customer service.

Note: This is an entry level training role with longer term opportunities to progress to IT Support Technician. All training will be on the job and this is a hands on role learning from the ground upwards. We actively encourage learning and development through NVQ studies.

Reporting to the IT Service Manager, you’ll be based from our Huddersfield Head Office working a varied shift pattern that can include some evenings and weekends.
