Nightshift Support Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of our leading national client's within one of their sites in South West UK.
The Desktop Support Technician role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.

You will be required to work 12 hour shifts (7pm - 7am) 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Periods of a rostered "on-call and standby" will be also a requirement for this post.

Responsibilities:
To maintain, upgrade and repair faults on the organization's IT systems, networks and peripheral equipment, including the logging and management of all ICT service desk requests for assistance through to resolution.

Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.

Comply with health, safety, quality and environmental issues within the designated area of responsibility

Significant experience in an ICT support role
Strong knowledge and experience working in the troubleshooting of Microsoft software including Server 2008, Exchange, Sharepoint, Office Suite and Project.
Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista.
Experience of Server Health Checks, Antivirus Management and Firewall Management
Previous experience of new workstation builds as well as workstation repair and resolutions
ITIL certification or experience of working to ITIL best practice.
