The position for General Manager in Norwich is no longer available
Due to forthcoming retirement a long-established and family-owned wholesale/trade counter business, based in the centre of Norwich, is seeking a new General Manager to take day-to-day responsibility for running the business with a great degree of autonomy and minimal board involvement. This is a role that will suit an individual used to managing at a senior level in a similar environment. The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing all aspects of a successful small business or self-contained business unit and demonstrable leadership skills in motivating and managing a small team. You will have an established track-record of building and maintaining rewarding business relationships with both customers and suppliers and the ability to map out and implement an effective strategy to grow annual sales and to increase profit margins without jeopardising the existing relationships. Proven experience in stock and cost management and imposition of tight financial controls will be combined with an ability to manage company cash flow and P&L in accordance with pre-agreed budgets. For this reason you will need to be comfortable working in such a financial environment. An enthusiastic hands-on approach to providing excellent customer service will be the key to your success.
The role will have a base salary of up to £35,000 per annum, depending on relevant level of experience, with the genuine opportunity to progress to a main board directorship.
