Equipment Technician

Our client is an automotive component manufacturer and a member of an international organisation who currently has a requirement for a Maintenance Technician (electrically biased) to join them at their Wearside based plant.

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for breakdown and PPM maintenance covering both machinery and plant facilities. You will support process improvements, install and commission new equipment as well as liaise with outside contractors and suppliers.

Educated to a minimum of ONC level, you must be time served and whilst multi skilled, the position is for someone with an electrical bias, ideally trained to 17th Edition IEE regulations. Experience of Siemens Step 7 PLCs and spot welding would be advantageous with your knowledge having been gained in either a manufacturing or automotive environment.

The salary for this role is between £22-25k with a 20% shift premium and will involve working 2 shifts; 6:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00
