Site Technical Manager (UK) - Meat

Our client, a leading meat processor, have an immediate requirement for a Technical Manager to join the team at their site based in Scotland.
Reporting to the Site Director, and as a member of the Site Senior Management team, the post holder will manage and facilitate the delivery of site technical procedures to customer specifications - in line with BRC principles.
The Technical Manager, and the team that they manage, will oversee all quality and food safety matters on site - minimising depot / customer / inhouse rejections. It will also the post-holder's responsibility to ensure internal audits are carried out and that relevant action plans drawn up and auctioned. It is the role of the Technical Manager to maintain a well trained team which polices the product quality and safety to ensure legal compliance.
The successful candidate is likely to be educated to degree level (though this is not a necessity) and have a proven track record of managing a team, at a similar level, in a food manufacturing environment. This experience must have been gained within a meat environment (ideally beef).Candidates who have experience of working with a top 4 grocer will be treated favourably. Applicants will be expected to display their passion for food and an excellent working knowledge of the principles of HACCP and current Food Safety Legislation. The post holder will rely on their strong communication and organisational skills to ensure that the site, and its products, continues to exceed all relevant national and international quality standards.
In return for meeting the above criteria the successful candidate will be rewarded with a salary of around £35,000 - £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience) and the opportunity to join a great business with plenty of scope for progression.
