Our Client designs, sources and manages automotive production technology, with the aim of creating a high-efficiency production line.

Job Location: South West England

Job Position: Powertrain Jigs and Fixtures Mechanical Engineer

Job Status: Permanent Staff Position

Role: Oversee Project Builds through from conception to completion.

Main Tasks:

Co-ordinate / Lead projects from concept to mass production

Have an understanding of basic project management skills (Cost / Delivery)

Understanding of how to operate mass production machines (Manually / Semi Automated / Fully Automated)

Fully understand drawings received from Designers (hydraulics/pneumatics)

Conduct any modifications required

Use and understand fine measurement tools / data ie 0.010 mics

Have basic knowledge and use of lathe, mill surface grinder

Assembly of Jigs & Fixtures

Able to work in a tidy and methodical method

Installation of the product within the plant

Able to schedule project work and control it

Experience:

Production support, Project or hands on role essential

Currently within a hands on role desirable

Project Control - although this can be built upon

Reporting Procedures and Systems:

Daily and weekly verbal communication with team and section.

Weekly and monthly written reports.

Relationships:

Good teamwork and the ability to be able to communicate all issues freely.

Must be Proactive, Assertive, and responsive to change

The ability to control/lead and supervise contractors and temporary staff

Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and own initiative.

Salary:

Negotiable & dependant on previous experience, but minimum would be in region of £26k, & up to £33k for fully qualified candidate. + package
