THE CLIENT
We are representing a chilled and ambient food manufacturer based in the Essex area currently supplying retail, manufacturing and foodservice customers with branded and own label products. The business has grown extensively year-on year; this April they will launch 90 products. This level of growth and innovation is planned to continue and to meet the demands this places on the business they are now recruiting a further two Development Technologists to join the NPD team. With an active current development programme, progressive development technologists will be key to their success.

JOB PURPOSE
Launching high quality products for clients through the year.
Supporting manufacturing ensuring final product quality is maintained.
Working on new product concepts and launches
Supporting the Senior Development Technologist and Head of Development in delivering the NPD programme for key clients.
Direct involvement in concept through to final product launch, innovation and manufacturing trials with clients.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports to Senior Development Technologist.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
>>> Experienced in retailer, manufacturing or food service food development
>>> A track record of client facing launches and factory trials
>>> Experience of assisting a large number of simultaneous launches
>>> Experience of maintaining products post launch
>>> Experience of working with M&S and ASDA would be a distinct advantage
>>> Sustained success within their sector by maintaining excellent relationships
>>> Experience of the concept development process from receipt of brief through to post launch review including budgetary control
>>> Strong track record of development and delivery of commercially viable products within a high volume food manufacturing environment
>>> An own label background would be viewed favourably
>>> Qualified in a food science or equivalent HND or above

>> Final product approval and launch management
>> Product engineering and reengineering
>> Factory trials
>> Factory launches
>> Audit compliance
