Our Client is a world leading supplier of Articulated Trucks, currently producing a 6 model range, which is typically used in the aggregates and mining industries.
Job Location: North East England
Job Position: Quality Engineer
Job Status: Permanent
Job profile:
Primary role is to provide support for quality initiatives in manufacturing operations and the interplant supply base. This position will also support NPI teams and ensure that the corporate requirements for APQP and PPAP are applied.
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
You must have extensive experience of APQP and also PPAP.
You must be degree educated in an Engineering or Manufacturing subject. Alternatively you will have extensive experience in a similar role.
You will need to have considerable experience of working in a manufacturing environment and a thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, root cause analysis, FMEA, corrective actions and ISO9001.
You will require strong communication, cooperation and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers, especially with leadership management employees.
You will be required to have quality systems knowledge and to be able to teach manufacturing and employees how to properly apply quality tools and techniques.
You must have advanced computer applications, good oral and written communications skills are a must.
Job Description:
Provide direct operational support and act as the link between site operational quality issues and the interplant supply base.
Engage with component groups, global quality resources and facility management.
Ensure that products meet Client Company's specifications, customer and legal requirements and provide guidance to the operations team and product group.
Drive improvements to product reliability and customer satisfaction through the support of the NPI programs and teams.
The incumbent will also be required to be proactive and develop quality related control methodologies and systems.
Facilitates quality investigations to determine root cause and then develops and implements corrective action plans.
Is responsible for the resolution of day to day interplant quality issues, including the coordination of stop to fix issues and rework programs.
Receives customer feedback and acts as the interplant quality contact for product support.
Provides support and expertise for the NPI process, CPI process and value stream certification program
Salary/Rate: Up to £33,000 per annum depending on experience
