The Company: Manufacturing organisation based in the South of England are looking to expand their team of specialist Engineers dealing with a key client.
The Role: To support the business in the successful introduction of new products. This will include successful development and launch of new products, with APQP activities.
Responsibilities include:
• Working with Programme management to ensure the successful implementation of new transit seats both Turkey and UK plants. To be a key member of the implementation team.
• Undertake the APQP, (P)FMEA and Control Plan implementation.
• Attend the New Programme meetings and manage all programme quality internal and external reporting activities including schedule A, AIM’s input, company PDP and customer specific submissions.
• Manage the Transactions between Dunton, Turkey and Southampton to ensure common understanding and communication.
• Engineering activities with the team from any base, Luton, Southampton, Dunton, Turkey.
• Coordinate the resolution of Quality issues with the program team and report to program and management team members
• Deputise, in the absence of the Assistant / Quality Manager.
• Identifying/setting Quality standards and key performance indicators within the division based on company and customer expectations.
• Supervision of the QA operations of the plant in close consultation and cooperation with the Group QA Manager and General Manager and Programme Managers.
Travel to the Luton, Southampton, Turkey and other sites will be required and essential to perform this role.
The Candidate:
• Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (desirable)
• Experience of APQP (Ford customer specifics) within Tier 1 Automotive including co-ordination/ supervision of a project based or functional team.
• Able to demonstrate contribution to previous successful new product ( Ford) launches.
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of business strategy and the role of Quality within the business.
