Location - Hertfordshire

Salary: Circa 58K + Car Allowance + Benefits

A passion for quality and process improvement, a demonstrated ability to implement and drive complex programs, and experience effectively driving quality into the product development process will help define the right candidate for this position. Significant experience/expertise with IPC standards for workmanship and PWB design are considerable assets. The Quality Manager will require knowledge of and experience implementing a number of industry standards, including EN9100, EASA, DAOS and ISO 14001

The incumbent will be responsible for managing, maintaining and proactively leading improvements to the Quality Management System. Reporting into Senior Management, the Quality Manager will play a key role in representing the multi-national business unit on Quality issues affecting customers within a specified region. The incumbent will work with counterparts across the business to drive continual improvement of the EN/AS9100 certified Quality System to minimize cost of quality while maximizing customer satisfaction through the delivery of on-time, high quality, highly reliable product.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages regional Quality resources
Leads all quality & regulatory certification and maintenance processes.
Leads the Quality Assurance function for the Business Unit, providing Quality Engineering support to the design, manufacturing and supplier management processes as required.
Supports the Customer Quality process, represents the company on customer audits, and ensures quick response and effective corrective actions on customer raised SCARS.
Drives the CAPA and FRACAS processes within the region, including implementation/improvement to tools, cross functional training, and generation of metrics.
Supports ESD, MSD, 5S & ROHS Management programs as required
Leverages a strong foundation in Lean Six Sigma methodology to support process improvement and product yield investigations at Contract Manufacturers.
Provides QA support on the implementation of Engineering Change Orders, Program Instructions, Waivers and Material Substitution Requests
Manages internal audit programs across multiple sites using a mixture of contract and trained internal personnel.
Advises and trains personnel in matters of quality, regulatory and best practice for electronic assembly equipment design & manufacture.
Reports on the health of the Company quality system at Management Reviews. Skills and Experience

Experience working for an electronics design & manufacturing company
Demonstrable leadership skills and people management capability
Experience leading ISO 9001:2008 and/or AS9100, in addition to EASA and DAOS certification and maintenance programs...
Interaction with external regulatory bodies for audit activities AS9006 and/or CMMI experience are considered assets
Knowledgeable in the interpretation and application of the following standards: J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610 Rev D Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721
The compilation and presentation of performance metrics on the quality system to the Senior Management Team
Generation of Customer required, AS9102 compliant First Article Reports.
8D or other structured problem solving methodology
Strength in interfacing directly with major customers on Quality issues.
Vendor management, including effective use of scorecards
Product Reliability, Maintainability, Durability methodology
ESD and MSD Control Requirements
Understanding of configuration management (CM), BOM, data and software structures;
Solid understanding of DFX principals and the NPI process.
Experience with SAP or another MRP is an asset;
Experience dealing with remote teams in multi-site, multi-national environments
The total travel expectation for the position is 25%, including quarterly international trips. Minimum Education requirements

Degree / HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline
ASQ CMQOE and/or ASQ CQE will be considered significant assets
