Engineering Shift Manager - Manufacturing

My Brackley based manufacturing client is seeking to recruit an experienced, motivated and positive Engineering Shift Manager to manage a team of 8 Engineers performing a range of ancillary, breakdown and routine maintenance duties.

This client is raising the bar of quality and internal engineering services provided, in order for the manufacturing facility to work as close to its optimum performance as possible. You will be the key motivator, coacher and developer to various engineering skills. This company is seeking to propel the lean manufacturing and continuous improvement ability within the factory, so it is essential that you have the necessary lean tools and working experiences to bring more fresh ideas to the table.

The job purpose is to deliver an industry leading engineering maintenance operation, provide support and lead Continuous Improvement groups. Ensure the Maintenance Management System "Mainsaver" is kept continuously up to date, propose and implement improvement projects and ensure timely repair of breakdowns with root cause identified and solutions put in place to prevent repeat failure. You will also ensure health, safety, quality and good engineering practice standards are maintained and develop, support and lead team of engineering technicians.

You will have a background in and be experienced with maintenance/lean manufacturing, be a time served Engineer with both mechanical and electrical disciplines, be able to work in a highly pressurised environment and have proven leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and coach others. Your industry/manufacturing sector experience is less important however, the continuous improvement and lean tools have the highest priorities.
