Our client are a global leader in metal and electrical recycling sector and are looking for a Business Development Manager to grow their business in the West Midlands.

With a proven track record in sales and business expansion, you will be responsible for the generation and development of new business within the recycling sector, whilst maximising any sales opportunities with your existing client base.

To be considered for this role you will have previous experience working within the waste management industry / recycling sector in a sales capacity and you will have worked to strict deadlines and targets.

You will be confident regarding cold calling and face to face meetings, able to negotiate and present at all levels and perhaps most importantly close deals and push the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

Developing new accounts based on targets set by Management
Attend all appointments made by the Sales team
Generate additional appointments by cold calling
Attend Monthly Business Development Meetings
Produce monthly report of new and existing volume
Liaise with potential clients and suppliers
Help identify market opportunities
To deliver specific business targets from a list of target accounts
Prepare and submit quotations to clients tender submissions, contracts etc.
Develop business plans in conjunction with others to support the growth of the business
Person Specification

At least 3 years relevant experience preferably within the recycling industry (prior knowledge of the Metal Recycling business would be a huge advantage)
Ability to work as part of a team or on individual initiative
Sound commercial awareness
Strong drive to meet business targets
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Good presentation skills
Proven track record in a sales role, including preparation of successful tenders and contracts
Ability to work under pressure
An enquiring mind with an analytical approach combined with high level numeracy
